Before I begin to update you on all the APEC dealings, allow me to update on the recent typhoon and flooding. As of a day ago there is 89 reported deaths. Extensive damage to field's homes and lives! The rain has continued and has filled the reservoirs making in necessary for the dams to release water flooding Central Vietnam even more.
GIBTK has been discussing what and when we should do s
omething. Russia has sent 5 million dollars of relief and many Orgs have rushed to the aid. Providing essentials. We as a team have decided to wait and see what needs will be after the first rounds of reliefs happen. I will keep you posted as necessary.

Due to APEC scanners and xray machines at my hotel...
|
I think that having the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation conference at this time in the same region has helped in some Ways. Honestly it is has been surreal. I've never had been where there is sooooo much security.
My hotel has metal scanners, and x ray machines. Patrolling armed guards, LOTs of men in suits talking into their sleeves. Elevators saved for the VIPs. The Prime Ministers from Japan, and Singapore and leader from Germany are all at our hotel... the opportunity which brought me here is a visit from SE Asia President, Skip Boyce and Regina Vargas, Business Operation International.

Skip Boyce Boeings SE Asia president being welcomed by our girls at Marys Home |
Honestly I was bit anxious of their visit. Boeing has generously provided grants for the past 5 years! I wanted to look "good" right? Well we did a quick cleanup and shine of Project legacy homes in preparation for the visit. LOL, well the day before were told they rather visit Mary's Home being closer to their hotel. So much for plans huh? LOL. The team did repond and put a quick shine on Mary's.

Boeings Regina Vargas being loved on! |
Funny thing is hey did not come to see the home, they came to see the kids of GIBTK!!!! Its been and always been about the kids. They are what we (that includes all of you!) are all about!
The kids loved on our guests, many were there last time Skip had visited. Remembering each other and hugging. The kids sang songs and loved on our guests. One more time I was reminded that often the "VIPs" are normal people. But Skip and Regina are special. The real VIPs are our kids! So PROUD of them!
