Back in Vietnam! This will be one of my longer trips. The Pfleger family is joining the first part of our trip. Before I go any further I want to announce the dates for our summer trip. It is for the young and those young at heart. The trip goal is to impact the teens and young adults who come. We have ways for them to raise funds. If you know a young person who should be come and see let's talk? Dates of the trip are July 17-28!
I want to thank the generous funding from the George T Pfleger foundation and the Pfleger family. Our first stop was Go Vap. The orphanage my daughter Kristina is from. To be honest I felt a bit worn down. The long flights and jet-lag. Today is part 1 of our visit to Go Vap. Please be sure to read Ali's and Nikko's soon to follow.
The Pflegers wanted to stay longer at Go Vap then we usually do. Honey Pfleger suggested we ask what do the kids need. The answer came quickly, Underwear! Who woulda thought? Honey did! She also suggested Ice Cream for all. The kids loved it. They were assembled in the downstairs area and a huge cart came out. The kids loved it, of course.
Funny thing happened to me. I saw the joy in their eyes. They came to shake my hand and get a hug. The smiles I saw was the beginning of why I keep coming back! Then we went up to the toddlers and babies. One in particular got my attention and I was convinced why I do this thing
At first she was a bit shy. But after making some funny faces she began to engage. She is such a sweet girl that stole my heart. Surely I am convinced why it is all worth the flights. Here was chance to love on a child and spend time with her. Time where she laughed and had a bright spot in her day.
Ali Pfleger and her boyfriend Nikko had their moments. I know I will get in trouble for posting this photo but it so shows the emotion and connection Ali had. When time was drawing to an end Ali couldn't break free from "her"baby. I may be the luckiest man around doing what I get to do. If any of you hear me say I don't know how long I can keep doing this slap me! I will keep doing what I get to do till I can't do it anymore.
Please be sure to read the next journal from Ali and Nikko. Once again I went to long lol! THANK YOU FOR READING! Keep us in your prayers.
