A Fine Young Man, Father & Husband!

A Fine Young Man, Father & Husband!
From time to time I meet a young man who stands out in my mind. Not just by what he says but what I see him do. To is just one of these young men. He joined our team as solely a teacher at Dorotheas Project legacy. Then began to take on other projects in GIBTK as needed. I watched as he began to pay "special"attention to one of our female team members.

And I did watch. But what I saw impressed me. He constantly went out of his way to make sure she was comfortable and had what she needed. From a blanket to cover her knees to water. They married (with my approval LOL) Since joining us he has paid for his younger brother tuition.

Problem with To is he did not speak English. I shared with him through a translator that he'd be more valuable to GIBTK if he spoke English. What amazed me he is took on English class and now speaks English fairly well! Truly an exceptional man!

Team Building

Heres his journal!

My name is To. I have worked for GIBTK about 6 years. I feel wonderful when I'm a member of GIBTK. My main job is a teacher. I teach Math and Chemistry for Carmela's and Mary's kids. I love this job because I can help the kids prepare their lessons better. Also, I share with them some life skills and how to become a good person in the future.

Now, I'm in charge of compassion houses, livestock and water filter projects. Sometime, I survey mountainous areas for water filter distribution. Honestly, I'm very lucky because I have a good life and clean water to drink. The people who live there have to use the water from the lake or the rain water to drink. When we give them the water filter, they are very happy because they have clean water to drink. Especially, they share the clean water with their neighbors, who don't have a water filter.

I remember theBui Le family, who had their house built in 2019. When I came their home the first time, it was very difficult for them to earn enough money for their living necessities. The husband caught fish in the river in front of their house. He earned more than $2 per day, but when it was a rainy season or flood, he just stayed at home. The wife worked for a wood workshop and she earned $50 per month. But now, they have a good life.

The wife has a new job with better income. She works at a restaurant near her house and every day she rides the bicycle which GIBTK bought her to go to work. Now, she earns about $120 per month which is enough for her family to buy food and pay for other expenses.

Also, when we worked with the local government, they agreed to provide a small piece of land for the Bui Le family. And they will start to grow a crop next month. I believe that their life will be better and their children will have an opportunity to continue to go to school. I met Bui Le's wife after the house was finished and she shared happily "I never thought that I can live in a dream house. I am happy and grateful to GIBTK and donors".
I believe GIBTK will transform more and more poor family's life.

Sincerely; TO
