Love Leads

Hi everyone! This is Tam! Thank you for spending time reading this journal after my Cambodia trip.

Pandemic has turned everything up-side down for two years. No travel and a lot of limitations on what we could do. But things are getting better now, and we are living in a new normal which allows us travel again. Within a month, I have made two trips to Cambodia. I traveled to Cambodia in the first week of March with my team to distribute 795 filters to workers at a factory in Kampong Chhnang province. It was such a privilege to partner with ATTA to help poor people gain access to clean water.

And here I am again to visit our homes for girls in Battambang in early in April. It is difficult to express how I feel at this time because I haven’t seen them for two years. But one thing I know for sure is that I am so excited to come back this time. I can’t wait to get their hugs. I feel so blessed to be part of the transformation journey in life of these girls. I thank God for giving me and GIBTK opportunity to step into their life and help them write a new story for their future. Seeing many of them growing up and being at university is a privilege in my life.

We had some time to sit down together. I had opportunity to listen to each of them. I was amazed by their dreams for their future, including nurse to-be, IT worker to-be, accountant to-be …. So many great dreams in these girls.

Seeing the girls this trip is the sweetest thing for me. Their sweet spirit with big hugs is always there to welcome me whenever I am back. My heart was filled with love and joy. I was on road for 16,5 hours to get to Battambang this trip, but it is totally worth it. I would not regret that I made this trip. I could refill the vision bucket with my team here. I could do some training to up-level the skills of my team. I could spend time with those who I love. What else will be worth more than doing these things.

Lastly, I want to thank Leakhena for her service to GIBTK. She has been so amazing. Her leadership shows her great passion. I am so touched by how well she leads the girls. Being by herself leading the team in Cambodia but she has executed the job so well. I am so proud of her and feel so blessed to serve in same team with her. And a huge thank-you to the house mothers too.
