Took a Step

Took a Step
Greetings from Danang! It’s been a trip that is a bit different then my past ones. At times I wonder who am I to be in these meetings. Yet I am reminded I am a child of God! I’ve been in Vietnam about a week. We began our week in Hanoi with the V.P. and regional reps from Global Leadership Network. In staging meetings for future leadership training.

Then last night topped it off. It was the night of our 20 - year celebration of working in Vietnam. Over 200 guests. Govt officials from provinces we work in, friends and most importantly is some of the parents of our team members! An awesome gathering with some remarkable dance and singing by GIBTK team.

Our first speaker who has met 4 US presidents. Spoke highly of our work in Vietnam. That’s where I get to wondering how does this happen to a guy like me with such a “checkered” past? Also, makes we wonder what does destiny hold for so many others yet for many reasons don’t step out to take a chance? Is that you? Is there something on your heart that keeps coming up?

The evening seemed to go long. Events like this are draining to me. But yes needed and I guess rewarding as well.  I’m typing this the following day on our 8 -hour road trip to Pleiku in Gia Lai province. A mountainous central highlands area to distribute water filters and bikes.

The drive is 8 hours to get to hotel then I’m told another 2 hours to bike distribution site. Good thing others can’t hear all the grumbling in my head. Funny thing is I’ve been listening to music which fills my Spirit. As I’ve listened to music that lifts my spirit, my grumbling heart gets filled with gratitude as I realize how fortunate I am to have found my purpose so to speak.

Getting to the distribution site brought even more gratitude. Please read our next journal/post as it will be written by Tam as she said this is one of her favorite programs.
