A Lawyer to Be

Today's story is about Nguyen Thi Ngoc An who could gain access to GIBTK's heart program 15 years ago. An is now healthy and has pursued her dream of becoming a lawyer. 

Seeing An, a nineteen-year-old girl with a lot of energy and good health, no one could imagine that she used to bear a heart disease of ventricular septal defect 15 years ago. Not only is An now free from such a fatal disease but she also enjoys her life a great deal. 

Due to her excellent health, she stopped going for follow-up evaluations on her heart a year ago and hasn’t taken medication for a long time. An is a second-year economic law student at Quang Ngai University of Finance and Accounting. Her current health state allows her to attend school and participate in group activities with her pals normally. An’s parents are thrilled to see such positive changes coming to her life, which all started with the life-saving heart surgery funded by Giving It Back To Kids and its supporters 15 years ago. 

To date, GIBTK has funded 1,735 life-saving heart surgeries.
