Amazing

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! No matter how many times I say it will not come close to expressing how I feel about all of you. There are some who have been on this incredible journey since the beginning, and some have come along just recently! The impact your support is generational transforming so many lives. And to be clear yes funds are important and even as important are words of encouragement and yes likes on social media. Those that pray for GIBTK well it is on the shoulders of those prayers that we are carried.

Tonight, we had a New Year party / TET party for all our homes, as well as Moms from our Mother’s Love program. I type hoping to find words to express what I got to be part of. Story after story of kids coming up of how GIBTK has transformed their lives.

One young man came to thank me (I pass his thanks to you) He is in his 5^th year the medical University in Danang. He shared with me he has to complete 6^th to graduate. As he told me this, he had a look that seemed to be asking if we would allow him to stay at Hal’s Home, our young men’s college home. I glanced and smiled letting him fell assured he’s welcome. This young man grew up in Quang Tri province. A very impoverished area. I looked at him and thought from utter poverty to a soon to be ophthalmologist! He said GIBTK has made his dream come true…

  There was personal story after story. I sat and watched as the different homes did choregraphed dances, even a short skit depicting a student leaving the countryside to go to university in Danang. Falling in with the “wrong” crowd. Getting into trouble then finally finding a good man who offered him a job allowing him to return to his family in time for TET. Another skit done wonderfully first done at a 5-star hotel, The Grand Mercure by our guys and gals from Hal’s home and the lighthouse. Was observed by someone at The Sheraton and they were recruited to perform in this coming new year!

The kids from our homes, the Single moms from The Father House sang and danced the night away. Real happiness and love clearly showing in their faces and spirits! As each home went up tp perform the other homes would cheer loudly. GIBTK is working! I am overwhelmed that this troubled youth, who liked to fish a lot and make pizza gets to be part of this thing called GIBTK for over 20 years!

Thank you for being GIBTK!!! Clearly, we would not be who we are. I hope you can come and see soon! Trips in March, Early summer and Sept as well. Come and see!
