Giving It Back To Kids has been my home and workplace for ten years. Nowadays, I am still working at GIBTK. When I was young, I dreamed of helping others, and through this organization, I have come this far. Seeing the lives of many girls transform brings me great joy and blessing. What brings us together is our accountability to the mission and vision that have brought us to where we are today. When I first met the girls, I thought they were only facing difficult situations and the risk of abuse in their lives. However, their past circumstances have limited their ability to be their true selves. They are imprisoned by their past. Let me convey how unique Giving It Back To Kids has been in my experience so far.
People often ask me about the strengths of the organization I work with. I have listed down many of them, but one of the best things we have is our commitment to long-term help, changing one child at a time. How do we do this?
I have learned many things that have increased my self-esteem and confidence emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Living in Giving It Back To Kids means digging up my old self from my previous 18 years and confronting it in healthy ways. Today, the true Leakhena is reflected in my forgiveness of myself and others who have unknowingly done anything to little Leakhena.
Every worst day of my life has been healed in a way that I haven't noticed. Giving It Back To Kids has completely transformed me over the last seven years. Because of the therapy, I discovered my true passion for fighting human trafficking and assisting the girls in GIBTK to transform their lives. Because of what has happened to me, I can relate to our girls in many life-transforming ways.
Because of God's love in my life, I was transformed. There are many girls out there who are pleading for this life-changing opportunity. They require “Time” to reflect on who they are and to address their physical needs, emotional healing, and a strong sense of spiritual support. The "True Truth" will reveal who they truly are. They require someone they can “Trust” to guide them away from their previous lives. I believe you have been reading our successful life-transforming stories. Behind every successful story is something far more profound than our eyes can see. Most of them are still in this healing process.
