Blossoming Beyond Hardships
My name is Sok Soury, I was born into a? disadvantage family. I am graduate in the field of management. Before My father passed away. We lived happily. Then my father got sick. He passed away with HIV when I was four years old. We sold our house with all of our property to send him to the hospital. But his illness is unable to cure. My mom got HIV from my father except I and my brother.
When I am nine years old, we had to live with my grandmother and step-grandfather since my mom had to work for other for our supporting us. Because she had the illness, she could not work heavily. She came home twice a week. Life with them is very tough, we have to taking care of the cows in the forest. My step-grandfather told us to quit school. Because my mom did not want us to quit school. Then we moved to live with my uncle and his ten-member family, which included three of my cousins, for a while.
After leaving school, we picked up the snail from the field to sell in the market for living. We did not have enough food to eat. Most of our food lack of nutrition. In 2013, I got an opportunity to live in Giving It Back To Kids. My most favorite classes are emotional health class, Glow Club and English classes.
I had transformed by God’s love within me. They have provided me with nutrition, education, care and love. I have been taking care well physically, emotionally and spiritually. I love go to Church, sing worship songs, and worship with Mom and sister in Marlene? and Vera’s home every night before we started having a self-study. And I can follow my dream. Now I finished university. Thank you for GIBTK for providing opportunities to me.
If it is not because GIBTK hand to help me in time, I will have a husband, and go to work in Thailand or a casino. Thank you so much for bringing the best version that I can be.
