Rising Through Education - Huyen’s Journey of Determination

Huyen coming from a poor family of seven in a poor place, she experienced a difficult childhood and did her best to avoid dropping out of school. Huyen's parents are honest farmers who rely on a few acres of rice fields to provide for their family of seven. Due to years of hard work, their health is not as strong as others.

As the third child in the family, Huyen is deeply aware of her parents' struggles and sacrifices to improve their family’s life. Understanding the challenges her parents face, Huyen always strives to excel in school, hoping to meet their expectations and build a better future for herself. However, without the means to attend extra classes, she sometimes struggles to understand certain lessons, making her feel less confident in front of her teachers and classmates. This concern also weighs heavily on her parents.

Her eyes reflect the determination to rise above her circumstances

Through her school’s introduction, Huyen learned about Dorothea's Project Legacy 5 and has been studying there for over six months. Thanks to the dedicated guidance of the teachers and the spiritual and emotional support from the organization, she has made remarkable progress in both academics and personal growth. At the end of the last semester of the 2023-2024 school year, she achieved the title of Excellent Student.

She was fortunate to find Dorothea's Project Legacy 5, where her knowledge grows.

Huyen shared, "Here, I not only receive support in subjects I struggle with at school, but I also get to develop new skills. People around me say I have become bolder and more confident. Additionally, I can participate in many useful and engaging activities. This is a safe and supportive learning environment where everyone is friendly and welcoming. In the future, I will continue to stay close to my class and learn more valuable knowledge."

She gets to fully develop her potential beyond just regular subjects

She promises to study hard so as not to disappoint her teachers and parents. She also wishes Giving It Back To Kids and the sponsors good health and success in their work. She is deeply grateful to Giving It Back To Kids for bringing new hope and changing her life.
