"The day of tears"
"Coming back from the US on Sat, I started working on Sunday. I wanted to catch up with the ladies because I didn't want to miss the moment we share about our dearest Dorothea - the greatest mom of GIBTK's kids. We first came to see boys. Often, I don't see boys cry a lot but today I saw tears on our boys' cheek. They had tears when talking about Dorothea, sharing how they felt when they first met her and what she meant to them.
They all still remembered her words to them about coming back to speak Vietnamese with them. How sweet that was! Then we came to see the girls at Lighthouse. I tried not to be in the sharing because it was so painful to me. But I was in it anyway. Listening to Quynh and Lieu's sharing made my heart wrench. Quynh said that when Dorothea didn't feel well, she felt that pain in her heart even though they live 8000 miles away from each other. And then Lieu said: losing Dorothea like losing my second mom. I wonder what it takes to have a bond like that between two strange people.
And what did Dorothea do to have that type of impact in this girl? You know what? She just come to us with unconditional love and hug of a mother. That has made a deep and huge impact in our life.
When I type this email, I am in tear again. I still can believe that our dearest Dorothea in not on earth any more. I know that she is in a special great place where she has no pain and no more suffering. But it is so hard to believe. Today was a day of going to different homes to be with the kids and share with them about Dorothea.
We are grieving here on earth, but I am sure that Dorothea is smiling at us. She is happy with what she sees in us. She knows that she influenced so many people while she was on earth. She will be so happy to see the positive influence on people she met and love and how the ladies are continuing carrying Her Vision. Since her death, I decide to live my life the way she had lived his life. Her life was the one life that God has used to transform thousands of lives. Just love people unconditionally and help them to be what they can be."
