This program makes a good impression on me. However I will not talk about how GIBTK is equipping students when they attend our community center classes. I would like to share about what I see beyond the classroom. That is about the connection between the teachers and students. As you know, what makes GIBTK different from other NGOs is relationships. So I am thankful to say that this project is following GIBTK's direction.
I not only feel the passion of our four teachers for their teaching, but also the compassion when they share with me about their students. The teachers shared happily that they truly appreciate their students' efforts. Although they come from poor families, most of them have a strong desire to learn to change their life. That's why our beloved teachers invest more of their own time in helping them with lessons. They are especially happy when their students make a significant improvement or get a good grade in their class. More importantly, they are so blessed when their students are more open to tell them about their personal lives and dreams.
Actually, the teachers have learned about their students' academic strengths and needs, but even more about their interests, hopes and worries. As a result, their students regard them as their sisters and brothers who can encourage them in a timely manner and help them to nurture their dreams.
I remember our primary teacher Suong burst into tears when she shared with me about an unforgettable memory with one of her students who was absent from class because of her sickness. Suong came to visit the little child at a hospital. The child and her mother were moved to tears when they saw her. Suong was so surprised, as she did not realize that her encouragement at that time meant so much to them.
A connection was built, her children feel safe and more trust in her hugs. This also inspires her to do the best she can do to help her students fulfill their potential. Through her sharing, I could feel her true love and care for her students.
The saying, "Never underestimate what a simple gesture can do. It is the little things that you do that make a big difference in other people's lives," is so true.

GIBTK and our teachers are making an impact on their students' lives. Students are likely to trust them more, show more engagement in learning, behave better in class and achieve at higher academic levels. Furthermore, the teachers draw them into the process of learning and promote their desire to learn. Students look to our teachers as mentors with a caring and giving heart.
I do believe that the relationship between them will be closer and stronger. Our teachers will keep their motivational fires burning to inspire the students to have a clear dream for their future.
Thank you for reading my journal!
