Greetings from Saigon! We landed and I think having not made this trip as often as I have in the past the trip seemed longer and to be honest I feel a bit more tired (sorta like the guests I tease so often) then usual. But I'm sure the jet lag will not last.
This trip will be short by most standards. But we have a specific plan. To begin a new program in Project Legacy. Honey Pfleger has been active in a program called Fristers. It provides services for single moms and their kids. We hope to use her experience and wisdom in setting something like it to serve unwed moms and their kids in the community. More on that in days to come.
Today my daughter, Kristina wrote out the following journal. As you may guess I am a very proud father. I know she has a tremendous calling on her life. May I venture to say she feels more then most? I believe God has put this into her makeup.
"Day one has come off to a high start. Flying for 14+ hours to Taipei, then another 3 to Saigon, I have realized this will never stop being tiring. But the fatigue fires up my veins to create and to invent.

It's a big dream of mine, to save the world. From what, you might wonder. I don't know. But this is a good start to figuring out what. I am currently sitting on the last plane ride, with about 2 more hours to spare, before we land in the hot sweaty land of Vietnam. I think the humidity will eventually be the death of me. Heaven forbid I, a spoiled Californian, shed a drop of sweat. It really is horrendous, I know.
This will be my sixth time back. I bring a different, more grown up Kristina each and every year, but I always seem to leave with a heavier heart and a clearer sight of the world. It will, however, be my first time traveling to Vietnam during the school year. This is my spring break. I'd much rather be loving on the children and families here, than be back at home.

I have a killer headache; I guess that's what I get by living off of soda and coffee. Of course, you can understand why, because we all know how delightful plane food is. I don't have any ground breaking speeches to share, since I haven't even stepped foot in Vietnam, but I hope I've shared enough of my hopes for this trip."
